The 2023-24 school year will mark the start of new eras for two EHS athletic programs as Chelsea Bass (girls basketball) and Max Peraza (swimming and diving) have joined the head coaching ranks.

Bass, who joined EHS this year as an English teacher and assistant girls basketball coach, will take over for Courtney Arnold. The Knights are coming off back-to-back SPC championship game appearances and return several key contributors. Bass is no stranger to the Houston basketball scene as she was one of the area's strongest players while starring at St. Agnes. After graduating from St. Agnes, Bass attended the University of Texas where she played basketball from 2010-2013. Prior to this year, Bass spent six years teaching and coaching at St. Agnes.

Peraza joined EHS this year where he has served as a history teacher and assistant swim coach. Before arriving at EHS, Peraza swam at Sewanee: The University of the South where he graduated in 2022. Peraza inherits both a girls and boys program eager to compete at the highest levels of the SPC.

Please join me in congratulating Chelsea Bass and Max Peraza!
