Embracing a challenging travel schedule, the girls and boys cross country teams enjoyed an outstanding day of competition during Saturday’s SPC South Zone meet hosted by St. Andrews in Austin. The girls team continued their impressive streak of wins with a commanding race in the opener. Maddy Morgan ‘25 and Lucy Holden ’23 finished first and second while Asher Luengas ’25 and GiGi Bass ’26 also medaled. The boys team finished fourth in a very competitive race. Sam Marino ’24, Evan Ringwald ’24 and Will Pacey ’26 earned medals. Both teams will now begin their final preparations for the SPC championship race scheduled for November 5 in Spring.

In other athletic news, the varsity football team earned a thrilling 21-15 win at Kinkaid and clinched a spot in the SPC 4A Championship game which will take place at 7 p.m. on November 5 at Sheldon ISD’s Panther Stadium. The Knights raced out to a 21-0 halftime lead and the defense thwarted a late Kinkaid rally with an interception as time expired.
