The atmosphere in Alkek Gym was electric last week as the students showed up and showed out during the varsity girls volleyball team’s huge wins over St. Agnes and St. John’s. The Knights began an important week with a thrilling 3-0 sweep of TAPPS powerhouse St. Agnes. Against St. John’s on Thursday, the Knights overcame a tough opening game loss and rebounded to defeat the Mavericks 3-1.
In other athletic news, the varsity boys volleyball team remains undefeated in SPC play as the Knights overcame an 0-2 deficit and defeated Awty 3-2.
The varsity football team enjoyed some late game heroics of their own as they overcame a 17-point third quarter deficit and defeated Nolan Catholic 38-34.
The cross country team enjoyed an opportunity to run on one of the nation’s premier cross country courses as the Knights made the drive to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational. The varsity girls team finished fourth overall with 171 points. The varsity boys team finished thirteenth in a packed field.
