Knights Set For SPC Tournament Play

The regular season came to an end last week and each of the Knights fall varsity teams has qualified for postseason play!

The varsity football team defeated Houston Christian 57-24 Friday night and will play for the SPC 4A title Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. at HISD's Delmar Stadium. The Knights (7-1-1, 4-0-1 in SPC play) will face familiar foe Kinkaid. This marks the Knights fifth consecutive appearance in the SPC championship game.

The varsity field hockey team defeated Houston Christian 4-0 Friday afternoon and clinched the #4 seed in the south zone of the SPC. The Knights (9-6, 2-3 in SPC play) will face ESD in the opening round of the SPC tournament Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at Greenhill.

Varsity girls volleyball swept Houston Christian 3-0 last Thursday to clinch the #2 seed in the SPC south zone. The Knights completed the regular season with a 36-6 record and were 4-1 in SPC play. The Knights earned an opening round bye and will face the winner of the John Cooper vs. Greenhill match Friday morning at 10:00 at ESD. The Knights are looking to win their second consecutive SPC championship.

Varsity boys volleyball finished a historic regular season with an overall record of 19-9. The Knights 5-3 record in SPC south zone play earned them the #2 seed in the upcoming tournament. The Knights will face Casady on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's.

Both the girls and boys cross country teams will compete in the SPC championship race Saturday morning at Norbuck Park in Dallas. The girls, who finished 4th in the SPC south zone race last week, will start at 9:00 a.m. The boys, who finished sixth at the SEC south zone meet, will start at 9:25 a.m.
