Letter from the Principal: Summer School Update

Dear EHS Parents:

Summer School classes provide a great opportunity for our students to meet their peers and begin working in the EHS academic environment which offers a variety of ways to engage our students and explore new interests. This summer, our classes will be in-person on campus from June 1-25. Mask wearing and social distancing will still be in place with support from our consultants at Houston Methodist.

However, please note there will not be an online option for a student who is exposed to Covid and required to quarantine. With classes being on campus for 2.5 hours each day and our teachers covering information for an entire semester in just 19 days, we believe it would be a significant challenge for a student to keep pace remotely and to be fully engaged on the computer. We do not want those that have to quarantine to struggle in the remote environment.

If you have already enrolled your student for the summer session and would now like to withdraw, a full refund will be made. Please contact Summer School Director Isaiah Coleman to request a refund.

Once again, Summer School is a great option for many in our community, but please know that taking a Summer School class is not a prerequisite for success.

Thank you for your interest in EHS Summer School.

Best,

Kim Randolph
Principal
