The EHS softball team defeated south zone rival St. John's 16-9 last Tuesday night and earned a spot in the SPC championship game v the north zone #1 seed Ft. Worth Country Day. The Knights and Falcons squared off at Madisonville High School Friday afternoon where the EHS offense made an early statement by scoring eight runs in the first inning. Knight hurlers Reese Barrett and LeAnn Dromgoole continued their dominating seasons as the pair limited the Falcons to just two hits and no runs through five innings. The Knight offense tallied sixteen runs, led by Allie Williams three hits and four RBI's. The championship is the Knight's fourth consecutive title and nineteenth overall.
The baseball team made yet another appearance in the SPC title game, this one coming after a thrilling 5-2 win at Kinkaid that clinched the #1 seed in the south zone. The Knights met the Falcons of FWCD Friday evening at Don Sanders Field on the campus of Sam Houston State University in the SPC Championship game. EHS senior pitcher Gunnar Brown continued his spectacular season with another dominating performance, limiting the Falcons to one hit while striking out eleven. Bennett Hanks, Raffi Gross, and Andrew Thornton all had hits to lead the Knight offense. The game featured several brilliant defensive plays by both teams as the Knights prevailed 4-0. The championship marks the third in four years for the Knights and fifteenth overall for the baseball program.
