Pillars Online - Spring 2020
Welcome, Knights!
From the Head of School
Dear EHS Family,
At the start of the school year, Bishop Andy Doyle shared “…we look forward to a year of dedicated effort, challenges faced and conquered, and life embraced and lived to the fullest.” No one could have anticipated the storm that was ahead and the challenges we faced throughout the spring. As a community, we learned to pivot at a moment’s notice. I am grateful for our amazing faculty and staff, our resilient students, and our loving families, more today than ever before. Surrounded by uncertainty and upended from all normal routines, our students and faculty have performed extraordinarily well and are to be congratulated.
This spring edition of Pillars Magazine, brought to you online instead of in print, is just another way we have reimagined projects and moved forward with fervor. As you scroll from top to bottom of this digital format, you’ll enjoy features such as the article on our distance learning initiative and regular favorites like Pop Quiz—a fun Q&A of faculty. Be sure to explore our Good News Now! web page where you’ll find award events, presentations, senior tributes, and performances re-envisioned for a virtual audience. For me, this mash-up page demonstrates the creativity, excellence, and sheer determination of our students and faculty.
In the Reasons to Smile section, you’ll see cheerful announcements from our Alumni who share photos of recent weddings and births. It’s important to remember that in spite of the pandemic, life does go on, there is good news to share, and our Episcopal High School community proceeds together, Knight Strong!
Stay safe and well this summer and Go Knights!
