What do you enjoy the most about teaching (or working) at EHS?

I enjoy working with my brilliant, passionate, and engaged students. I learn at least as much from them as they do from me, and they inspire me to be a better teacher for their sake and for my own. What most motivates me is helping them learn to love literature and to find in it a means for human connection and expression.

Who has had a profound effect on your teaching and how?

My favorite college professor showed me that teaching is as much about caring for students as it is about instruction, and my goal is to replicate the care and nurture I received for my own students.

What was most appealing to you in wanting to teach (or work) at EHS?
I relished the opportunity to work with students who approach both their academic work and their extracurricular activities with such intellectual rigor and enthusiasm.
