I am drawn to and at my best with those who are trustworthy, exemplify humility, and model servant leadership. Other qualities that appeal to me include compassion, integrity, courage, creativity, and adaptability.
By nature, I enjoy asking relevant questions and listening to others more than talking, so this tendency has helped me to minimize assumptions or biases that may be inaccurate about people or situations. In April 1975, my family and I had to leave our homeland to escape from communism. Heartbroken while facing uncertainty, we relied much on our faith and resilience to overcome the challenges. In addition, we were fortunate to receive the proper support and guidance in rebuilding our lives. As shared in a chapel talk about our journey to freedom, we remain very grateful for the generosity of the American people and for the many opportunities in this country.
