Join us from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the chapel, as we consider the storms that arise in our lives and offer them up prayerfully for God to help us find peace. The program will feature quiet reflective time, opportunity for creative work, worship, lunch, and optional one-on-one time with a chaplain. The event is free (including lunch) and open to the EHS Community (Students, Staff, Faculty, Parents and Alumni). Register by October 14 at this link. |

| The Holiday of Yom Kippur By Layla Mueller Every year after Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, Jews all around the world celebrate Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is the holiest of the Jewish Holidays. It is a time where we ask God for forgiveness through prayer. During Yom Kippur you are supposed to fast once you have had your bar/bat mitzvah around age 13 because you are now considered a Jewish adult. This year Yom Kippur starts the evening of October 4 and ends the evening of October 5 by blowing the shofar, a ram's horn, to signal that you can break your fast. Everyone is invited to come to the Jewish Heritage Club meeting after school on October 13 in Anderson Lecture Hall to learn more! |

| Mental Health Support Do you know Ms. Singh and Ms. Luvisia? They are here to offer support! It's best to send them a message through Teams to set up an appointment, but if you need to see someone right away, drop by their offices in the Convent Building (first floor -- C102 and C103). If their office doors are open, they're available to talk, but if their doors are closed, please have a seat at the table in the C102 meeting area and send them a Teams message to let them know you're there. Remember that your chaplains (officed in the area beside the counselors) are also available to listen and offer support. |

| Drug Prevention and Positive Choices At lunch time on October 24, look for the table in the USC, where our Choices Education Specialist, Ms. Martinez, along with our Mental Health team, Ms. Singh and Ms. Luvisia, will be sharing materials and giving away red ribbons in observance of Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is an awareness campaign that is the largest drug prevention program in the nation. Red Ribbon Campaign has announced this year's theme for the 2022 Red Ribbon Week is Celebrating You! Ms. Singh and Ms. Luvisia wanted to remind everyone that the people who bring out the best in you are the best for you. It's important to recognize how people make you feel after an interaction, conversation, or any sort of exchange. Do you walk away feeling loved, empowered, excited, happy, supported and encouraged? The right people in your life, who are with you and for you, will never make you feel like you're anything but absolutely amazing, because you are! |

| Choices Topic for October: Body Awareness How do you see yourself and feel about your body when you look in the mirror? Body satisfaction involves feeling comfortable and confident in one's body, accepting one's natural body shape and size, and recognizing that physical appearance says very little about one's character and value. Click here to learn more. AND if you missed the Choices Family Movie Night but would still like to watch the IndieFlix movie Angst, a link to it will be made available through the EHS Weekly Windows newsletter next week. It's a film about anxiety, and it includes interviews with children, teens, educators, experts, world champion swimmer Michael Phelps, and parents. It offers information about the physiology and emotional impact of anxiety, as well as some instructive tips and coping skills for managing it. The film will be available for one week only. For more information, contact Ms. Martinez. |

| Do You Know FCA? FCA is a student-led club at Episcopal High School that does not require members to be Christians or athletes but encourages students to join who want to learn more about God. EHS FCA is a way for students to be in fellowship with other students and faculty/staff on campus and meet Friday mornings at 7:20am in Anderson Lecture Hall to hear from people in and outside our community about God's word and its implications of their lives.
