Wednesday: October Parent Forum Focuses on High-Risk Behaviors and Brain Development

Don't miss this month's Parent Forum Luncheon, where the topic is "The Impact of High-Risk Behaviors on Brain Development." The luncheon takes place on Wednesday, October 3, in the Alumni Center from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Presenters include Choices Counselor Mary Secrest, Clinical Psychologist Beth Fowler, and Dean of Spiritual Life Rev. Beth Holden.

Check Your To-Do List: Now is the Time to Order Letter Jackets, Grandparents Day Chapel Flowers and Poinsettias
Fall is here, and so are opportunities to show school spirit and support our programs.
  • On Thursday, October 4, the representative from Neff Letter Jackets will be in Scurlock Gym during both lunches to conduct fittings and take orders for the Knights.
  • Families who wish to donate Grandparents Day Chapel Flowers may do so here. The deadline for donations is November 1.
  • Christmas is right around the corner, and the Freshman Class is taking orders for their poinsettia fundraiser. Don't pass on the best deal for beautiful poinsettias--place your order here.

Join the SOS Race for the Cure team this Saturday, October 6, as we help raise funds and fight breast cancer! EHS has a strong tradition of sponsoring one of the biggest teams in the city. Please sign up here.

Derby Knight Auction Seeks Champion Donations for the Silent and Live Items
Planning for Auction 2019, Derby Knight, is out of the gate, and we need your help! Do you have a fabulous vacation home? Or do you own a business? We are looking for donations of any kind (i.e. vacation homes, getaways, spas, restaurants, items, etc.). If you would like to donate, please contact Debbie Kelley or Mandy Loper in the Auction Office.

College Fairs Kick Off This Month

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors - College Fairs kick off this week beginning this Tuesday, October 2, at George Bush High School in Fort Bend. Check out our "What's New" page to view the entire schedule.

Seniors SAT/ACT Dates - There is still time to register for the November SAT before October 5. If you are planning to take the October ACT, you can still register with a late fee before the October 14 deadline.
Senior Application Workshops - Workshops continue this Wednesday, September 26, immediately after school in Anderson Lecture Hall.

Seniors—Are you planning to apply for financial aid in college? You can begin by creating your FSA ID here and then start completing your FAFSA on October 1. Be sure to visit our "What's New" page on Counseling Connections for more detailed information.

Freshman Service Day - Students at EHS are inspired to serve. One of the biggest service projects each year is Freshman Service Day, where the entire class, and several faculty and staff members, rally at the Houston Food Bank to assemble lunches for Houston's hungry.
