Alumni Leadership Day Returns to Campus

Our 4th Annual Alumni Leadership Day takes place this Tuesday, October 23. This event gives seniors an opportunity to hear from alumni about their college experiences and the decisions that shaped their careers. More than 40 outstanding alumni are joining us on campus. We are excited to host Katherine Alexander '89 as our Chapel speaker on Monday, as she shares how the passions she discovered at Episcopal led her to her position today at the Department of Defense. Then on Tuesday, current parent Paul Palmer, of Ernst & Young, will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on future careers during a roundtable lunch with seniors. Derby Knight Auction Underwriting Letters Mailed This Week
Be on the lookout for your Auction Underwriting letter this week – this is your ticket to Auction night! Underwriters receive acknowledgement in all Auction publications and invitations as well as preferred seating at the Auction. Beat the rush and register now online or mail your underwriter reply card (enclosed with your underwriting letter) to the Auction Office. The deadline to register is Monday, December 10, 2018.

From the Academics Pillar: October Advisory Topics

During advisory on October 23, the freshman and sophomore classes will continue to discuss gender stereotypes and affirmative consent. The juniors and seniors will do the same later this month. As a school, we believe that students must have a greater understanding about these areas in order to live lives of significance in service to others.

We understand that conversations about gender stereotypes and consent are not inherently about sex. Instead, they are about the worth and dignity of the individual, values deeply embedded in the Christian faith and EHS's mission.

We invite you to ask your students about the advisory discussions and to continue the conversations at home.  If you have questions, please contact Associate Head of School Nancy Eisenberg at neisenberg@ehshouston.org.

Seniors SAT Reminder - If you are planning to take the November SAT, there is till time to register with a late fee before October 24.

Seniors ACT Reminder - This is your last chance to test for the fall college application deadline.  Register today for the December ACT before the November 2 deadline.

EHS Grandparents Day is next month, Friday, November 16. This special day honors EHS grandparents for the contributions they make to their families and to our community. We are about to drop invitations in the mail and hope to have many EHS grandparents join us for this annual tradition. Please submit grandparent addresses here.
