Parent Forum with Bishop Doyle Focuses on Cultivating Character and Fostering Faith Mark your calendars now for our January 29 Parent Forum. The Right Rev. Andy Doyle, Bishop of the Diocese of Texas and Chair of the EHS Board of Trustees, will be the featured speaker, addressing the topic "Cultivating Character and Fostering Faith." An avid reader and fly fisherman, Bishop Doyle has written several books, often mixing references from pop culture's music and movies with the latest in secular leadership trends in order to reach the broadest spectrum of readers and challenge Episcopalians to move into their communities with the Gospel in word and action. Bishop Doyle's six-word autobiography is: "Met Jesus on pilgrimage, still walking." As a father to one EHS alumna and one EHS senior, Bishop Doyle walks comfortably in the shoes of a parent of high school students. Join us for lunch at 11:30 a.m. in the Alumni Center. The program begins at noon.

Junior Parents, Join College Counseling on 1/14 Sophomores and Juniors: Now that the PSAT results are available, you will see an increase of mail both at home and in you inbox. Here's some advice: Junk Mail 101: Put all that college propaganda to good use—You'll be bombarded by emails and mail from colleges and universities, and the way you sort through all of the communications can set the tone for the rest of your college search. Don't dismiss an institution based on its ranking or its unfamiliarity to you. Many students find "their" college through an unsolicited communication. Before signing up to be on mailing lists, create a new email account or a folder within your email for all communication to and from schools.
