Finding Silver Linings in Distance Learning As we move into Week 4 of our campus closure, silver linings are beginning to emerge, a few of which Ned Smith referred to in his Easter Update last Thursday. Among the positives we've heard are spending more time for family, reading, taking up a new hobby, and improving time management. Be sure to watch Mr. Smith's message on our Covid-19 Quicklink, if you haven't already. Grades and Assessments: Principal Kim Randolph updated policies for grades and assessments. EHS will eliminate final exams this spring. Students may have alternative assessments such as papers or presentations. Please read on our Covid-19 Quicklink under the menu "Academic Policies for Spring 2020." Good News, Knights!: Over the Easter weekend, ABC Channel 13 featured English teacher Hillary Houle and her students who wrote letters to first responders. ICYMI, click here for Letters of Light. Parent to Parent: Try out the EHS password-protected Parent Portal Group for each class. This is a place to foster conversations and community among the families of our students. Parents can login using the same login used for Parent Central, grades, and billing. Class deans check out the questions daily and can get back to you. > Class of 2020 Parent Portal Group > Class of 2021 Parent Portal Group
Spring SPC Season Forced to Cancel After exhausting all possible avenues to potentially postpone and reschedule a modified spring conference tournament, the Board of Directors of the Southwest Preparatory Conference unanimously decided to cancel all Southwest Preparatory Conference athletic competitions for the entire spring season. We are all saddened that circumstances warrant these actions but realize we are doing what is in the best interest of the health, safety, and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, and fans. Throughout the remainder of this academic year and the summer months ahead, the Commissioner and Operations Committee will monitor ongoing conditions as we plan for the fall season. If you have questions, please contact Athletics Director Jason Grove. Tweetin' Athletes: The fields may be closed and the SPC season may be cancelled, but EHS athletes are lighting it up on Twitter. Follow the fun and get a few tips for your own workouts! #KnightsStandOut
