Chaplains Present Baptism Course and Lenten Parent Forum The Church understands baptism as the sacrament by which we become part of the Body of Christ and members of the community known as the Church. Through the waters of baptism, we are washed clean of our sins and experience rebirth and new life. The season of Lent, the period of 40 days leading up to Easter, has been a traditional time of instruction and preparation for candidates seeking to be baptized. While baptism is typically done in the context of one's church home and often when candidates are at a very young age, we sometimes have students who consider EHS to be their church home or who, for various reasons, have not yet had the opportunity to be baptized. We can help! Between February 17 and April 3 (this year's season of Lent), the EHS chaplains will be offering a Catechism (instruction) program for students and staff interested in baptism. For more information, please contact Rev. Holden by this Friday, February 12. Parent Forum: Please join us on Teams Live on Wednesday, February 10, at noon, as our EHS Chaplains, the Reverends Art Callaham and Beth Holden, talk about the season of Lent. We will explore the purpose and characteristics of these 40 days in the wilderness, consider what Lent might have to offer our families, learn about contemporary disciplines with ancient roots, hear about plans for the observation of Lent on campus this year, and end with some reflective time. To attend, you will need a computer, iPad, or cell phone. Simply click on the link below. We hope you will join us for the live event, but remember that this, as with all our Parent Forums, will be recorded and available on the school website afterward. Add a Little Comfort to Scurlock Gym Help us make the Scurlock Gym more student-friendly for our remote learners. We are looking for cloth-covered sofas/chairs that you may no longer use to place in the Scurlock Gym for the remainder of the school year. We hope to make areas in the gym more comfortable for students by creating a library-like atmosphere. This change will make on-campus remote learning more palatable and improve student engagement. If interested, please contact Dean John Colello.
