From the Desk of Principal Kim Randolph
Dear Knight Families,
I am sure by now that most everyone in the community has switched gears and is enjoying a much-deserved summer break. The successful completion of this school year could not have been possible had it not been for the "can do" attitude and resiliency demonstrated by our students, parents, faculty, and staff. Congratulations to everyone for staying the course! We have had a successful launch of summer school and athletic camps with several hundred students on campus each day taking advantage of the opportunity to get ahead, work on skills, or take a course for fun. In looking to the 2021-2022 school year, please know that we will no longer require daily health attestations. Instead, we ask that all monitor their health and communicate with the school in the event of symptoms appearing, erring on the side of caution. Summer camps and summer school are already operating successfully under this new protocol. We will continue to notify the community of all positive cases. Next school year, we will return to our regular weekly class schedule in which all classes meet four times per week with one of those meetings a longer block class. Classes will be taught in person with no option for remote learning, but we will have periodic virtual days next year, knowing how valuable it is to maintain these important skills. Finally, we do expect the health authorities to continue to mandate quarantines for those who are symptomatic or with close contact to those who test positive. The authorities will likely allow exceptions, the most certain of which is proof of vaccination. While not required, we strongly encourage all in your family to be vaccinated for this reason. Those who were unable to participate in our June 4 vaccination clinic may schedule at their convenience with our partners at Houston Methodist here. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and support throughout the school year!
Sincerely,
Kim Randolph Principal
