Arts & Athletics Preseason Updates
Dear EHS Families,
Please know that during our fall preseason for Arts and Athletics, August 2 to August 17, masks are optional both indoors and outdoors at EHS. We will continue to monitor local conditions and will update our mask policy for the school year on August 6 as previously announced. Please continue to respect those students and adults who prefer to wear a mask.
Please continue reading for an update from Athletic Director Jason Grove and Dean of Arts and Innovation Jay Berckley focusing on our preseason for Arts and Athletics.
Go Knights,
Head of School
Greetings EHS families,
We are pleased to launch the year's arts and athletics offerings, beginning Monday, August 2 with our dynamic preseason activities. The variety of opportunities combined with our ambitious plans to welcome you all back to campus is surely a reason to look forward to the weeks and months ahead.
We are excited about our wide range of curricular Arts Pillar courses and the plans we have made for the '21-'22 school year. With nearly 90% of all students enrolled in more than 40 different courses, including offerings in ceramics, drawing, broadcast journalism, stagecraft, animation, sculpture, guitar, directing, speech, computer music, art history, photography, music, dance, theatre, media and studio arts, publications, and our many award-winning arts programs, we are confident that there will be ample opportunities for every student to #FindInnerGenius, make lifelong memories, and share their stories.
Our extracurricular arts offerings begin on Monday, August 2. We will have guest choreographers from across the country joining our dance program, band practices ongoing, and we'll begin rehearsals for the fall play: Our Town. On Monday, August 9, our chorale, orchestra, and theatre students will join us for additional workshops, masterclasses, and initial performance preparations.
In the Athletics Pillar, the EHS facilities and maintenance staff have been working feverishly to prepare our fields, gymnasiums, and locker rooms for the start of preseason practices. In addition to our usual summer maintenance items, our students will quickly notice some new and improved areas that we cannot wait to unveil.
Please follow this link for dates, times, and practice locations for field hockey, girls volleyball, cheer, cross country, boys volleyball, and football.
We are so excited to begin another year at EHS and look forward to welcoming our Knights back to campus.
Go Knights,
Dean of Arts & Innovation
