Hello EHS Parents, We hope you and your students were able to enjoy the long weekend! EHS would like to thank you for the outpouring of support from our very generous community; we are still finalizing results from Giving Day and will share with you when we have a solid number. Another highlight from last week was our annual Founders Day Chapel. The EHS community enjoyed the wise words of founder The Rev. Laurens A. Hall. We are so appreciative of the dedication of Rev. Hall and the other EHS founders. |

| IndieFlix Film Angst for Family Viewing This Week On September 21 at our lunchtime Parent Forum and at the evening Choices Family Movie Night event, many of us were able to view the IndieFlix film Angst. It's a film about anxiety, and it includes interviews with children, teens, educators, experts, and parents. It offers information about the physiology and emotional impact of it, as well as some instructive tips and coping skills for managing anxiety. World champion swimmer Michael Phelps makes a moving appearance in the film, talking about his own struggles with anxiety. A great number who were able to attend one of the viewings voiced a desire for all our students, parents, and faculty to see it, and our Choices Education Specialist Desiree Martinez has worked with IndieFlix to make it possible for us to do that through a shared link for a very limited time. Use the following link to view the film, which is available for you to access from 8:00 a.m. on October 11 until 8:00 a.m. on October 18. Link: https://watch.eventive.org/indieflix/play/62ffbae33d829500929bdac0 Email: dmartinez@ehshouston.org Password: Lavender22! Please also consider completing the survey for the film at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HM9DN23?OrgID=1491399962 Because the movie touches on sensitive subject material, we advise you to watch and discuss it as a family, and we encourage you to use this as an opportunity to open new avenues of conversation with each other. Should your children want to learn more or discuss anything further with one of our counseling team members, Ms. Singh and Ms. Luvisia are available. For questions regarding the video, please email our Choices Education Specialist Desiree Martinez. |
