Rebecca Alexander '14
Rebecca graduated from EHS in 2014. She then went on to graduate from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a B.A. in government and minor in English. After graduation, she moved back to Houston. She currently works at Little Coterie, an event startup that specializes in highly detailed, out-of-the-box weddings, milestone birthdays, corporate events and more.In her free time, she enjoys traveling, seeing friends, volunteering for political candidates and going to Red Sox games.
Lauren (McLaughlin) Black '03
Lauren (McLaughlin) Black graduated from EHS in 2003. She then earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University in 2007, and graduated in 2011 from Georgetown University Law Center. After graduating law school, Lauren returned to Houston and has been practicing as a commercial litigator ever since. Her practice primarily involves general commercial litigation disputes, trade secrets litigation, and employment law.
Lauren married a fellow Houstonian, Bryant Black, on a beach in Mexico in 2018. They have a wonderful dog named Loretta and are expecting their first child in October. Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking, and staying in touch with friends and family.
Brian Brantley '96
Brian Brantley is currently the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for SeaOne Holdings, an energy project development company. He has been involved in the legal and energy industries for the past 20 years, both at companies and law firms in Houston and New York. He is a 1996 graduate of Episcopal High School, and 2000 graduate of Washington & Lee University, where he played 4 years of NCAA varsity lacrosse. He has a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law. Brian serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Hearing and Speech and the West University Elementary Foundation, and is the Chairman of the Texas Children’s Hospital Bad Pants Open fundraiser for the neonatal intensive care unit. He lives in Houston with his wife and four children.
Derek Brown '13
Derek Brown is a Private Equity Associate at KKR in Houston. He graduated from Yale with a double major in Environmental Engineering and Geology, where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. Derek is involved in various volunteer efforts within the greater Houston area and enjoys spending his weekends with his best friends from EHS. He is excited about the opportunity to join the Episcopal High School Director's Council.
Katelyn Ellis '15
Katelyn graduated Episcopal in 2015. She continued her education at Louisiana State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Spanish. Throughout her time in Louisiana, Katelyn was involved in Delta Delta Delta sorority as a member and chairman, a part of the Student Finance Association, and assisted St. Jude patients as a volunteer. Katelyn has always been passionate about fundraising and service back to communities and organizations, and has been a team captain for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night for 9 years while raising over $45,000. Katelyn came back to Houston in May 2019 after graduating and started working at Presbyterian School. She serves as their Donor Services Coordinator handling all incoming donations, reconciliations, and comprehensive management of the donor database. In Katelyn’s free time, she enjoys being a devoted committeeman to Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Breeder Greeters, exercising, and going down to Galveston with family.
Allison Franklin '10
Allison graduated from Episcopal in 2010. After graduation, she attended the University of Alabama where she obtained a B.A. in Dance, along with her B.S. and M.S. in Nutrition. She went on to work as a Registered Dietitian with the University of Alabama Athletic Department and University of Houston Athletic Department. She now runs her own private practice, Programmed Performance, while teaching dance and fitness classes.
Reese Henningsen '10
Born and raised in Houston, Reese Henningsen is a Project Manager with Lockton Companies where he has worked over 5 years with companies in the Energy and Industrials space.
Reese began his insurance career as an intern with Lloyd and Partners, in London, working closely with brokers on their Energy & Marine team in 2012. In 2014 he graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Inter Disciplinary Studies with a focus in Business, Communication Studies, and Sociology. Following graduation, Reese accepted a job with Lockton Companies in Houston as an account manager working on the Multi-National Marine and Energy Team. His responsibilities involved working with major insurance carriers, marketing, placing and servicing the insurance needs for Lockton’s clients. After three years he transitioned into his current role working as a Project Manager, where he works closely with energy and industrials focused private equity firms.
Reese currently serves on the board of the Houston Arboretum and the Trotter Family YMCA. He is also involved with several Houston community organizations such as the Greater Houston Port Bureau, ACG Young Professionals, Young Professionals in Energy, the LSU Alumni Association, Young Professionals in Finance, Houston Maritime Museum, Independent Petroleum Association of America, Small Steps, Andy Allen Clays for a Cure and Arms Wide Poker Tournament.
Carter Mizell '12
Carter Mizell graduated from Episcopal High School in 2012. He went on to receive a BBA in Economics and a minor in Business from the University of Texas at Austin. Carter is now in the Commercial Real Estate business, and is a Transaction Manager at Newmark Knight Frank. Over the past four years, he has managed due diligence, remained in constant contact with various investors, and conducts all aspects of market research for the investment sales team.
During his time at The University of Texas at Austin, he was involved in various organizations such as Texas Cowboys (President of Newman Class and member of the selections committee), Habitat for Humanity, The ARC Capital Area, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon (Rush Captain and Vice President). He remains an active member of the Texas Cowboys Alumni organization and the Texas Exes association.
Carter is also actively involved in volunteering throughout the Houston community as a Board Member of the Trotter Family YMCA and committee member within the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He has also helped organize the EHS alumni baseball game over the past two years along with two former classmates. Carter enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, snow skiing, and playing various sports.
Falyn Page '14
Falyn Page is a proud member of the 2014 graduating class of EHS. While Falyn was a student at EHS, she was a Varsity Cheer Captain, a member of the Step Team and DIA, an Acolyte Leader, Psalmist, Senior Homilist, the SOS Communications Leader, a member of MASQUE and one of the first Broadcast Journalism students. She also participated in countless school plays, dance concerts, study abroad trips and much more!
After graduating from EHS, she took her broadcast talents to the University of Missouri where she graduated as one of the top 39 seniors across the entire school with a bachelor’s degree in Convergence Journalism with a Multicultural Certificate. During her collegiate time, she interned and wrote stories for CNN, Vox, Newsy, CNBC and even was a reporter in Beijing, China for the China Open Tennis Tournament.
Falyn now lives in Houston, TX, and is the Communications Coordinator at Windsor Village Church Family where she and the team handle marketing, advertising, videography, photography, branding and social media. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, setting up her new home & being a Cheer Coach at EHS!
Stephen Pitt '12
Mr. Pitt joined Stephens in January 2017 upon graduating from University of Texas at Austin. Stephen’s experience includes providing risk management services for our clients by supporting marketing efforts, accounting tasks and checking policies for our Real Estate, Construction & Energy clients. Recently, Mr. Pitt spent several months in London, where he gained knowledge in the international market placing large risks within Lloyd’s for global upstream, midstream & real estate clients.
Prior to joining Stephens, Mr. Pitt’s gained valuable experience through Intern programs in Houston in the Oil & Gas and Real Estate industries as well as advancing his studies at the London School of Economics. Mr. Pitt is originally from Houston and is a sixth generation Texan. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 where he received a Bachelor of Arts and a Business Foundations Certificate.
Jennifer (Haikin) Zach '97
Jennifer Haikin Zach is a native Houstonian born on October 31, 1978. She is a 1997 graduate of Episcopal High School and a 2001 graduate of The University of Denver. Jennifer is a lover of all things family, making a difference and getting involved. It started as a young child growing up at the Jewish Community Center and watching my mom chair events and helping all those in need or at our schools, where she gave so much of her time to make every person, program and event a success for the love of her children and for the mission of the organizations.
It continued for Jennifer in high school where she volunteered for months at an organization that helped so many children in need and helped them find comfort, funds to survive and a sense of community. That feeling is her calling. Jennifer started working at the ERJCC as a counselor in their amazing day camp for the summers of 1998 and 1999. In 2001 Jennifer continued volunteering in the Development office of which her mother played a vital role and one of the founding ladies of the largest fundraising event of the ERJCC to date. As Jennifer continued as an employee for three years where she met her husband, Ron Zach and eventually took more leadership opportunities as a volunteer role as auction chair, program chair, décor chair and chairperson for two years of the largest event her mother help start.
When Jennifer is not driving her three children Hudson, Hogan and Harper to baseball to basketball to ballet and school organization meetings, she serves on the board of the ERJCC and Bellaire Little League. And you will see Jennifer Haikin Zach enjoying family, life experiences, friends, travel and life on the bleachers.
Mitchell Zlotnik '10
Mitchell was born and raised in Houston, Texas where he attended Episcopal High School. After graduating from McCombs School of Business in 2014 with a degree in energy finance and a minor in accounting, Mitchell moved back to Houston to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. He joined Westwood Energy where he executed commercial due-diligence projects on behalf of private equity firms and strategic industry acquirers. Looking to transition into industry, Mitchell worked as an operations business planning analyst for Cheniere Energy. While at Cheniere, he supported the startup of the Corpus Christi liquefaction train 1 operations through creation and implementation of processes and procedures. Mitchell was recognized for his achievements in Corpus Christi at a Cheniere quarterly operation’s all-hands meeting.
Mitchell is currently an MBA Candidate at McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. He was recently selected as one of 16 students to oversee the McCombs Investment Fund, as a manager for their energy sector portfolio. With AUM of $33M, the Investment Fund is the first legally constituted, private investment company run by students. Mitchell was also selected to be a member of the McCombs Ambassador Committee and is involved in the Graduate Finance Association and Energy Finance Group. He will be interning at Morgan Stanley this summer as an associate in the energy investment banking group before finishing his final year at McCombs.
In his free time, Mitchell enjoys attending UT sporting events, Astros baseball games and spending time outdoors skiing, hunting and fishing. Mitchell previously served as a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Herman Park Conservatory Host Committee.
