Drawing Teacher (part-time)

EHS seeks a dynamic drawing teacher whose responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and deliver curriculum, guiding students towards success with Drawing techniques and processes.
    • Use a range of instructional techniques and media consistent with available resources, meeting students’ needs, interests, and progressing their capabilities.
    • Expand students' use of individual and collaborative strategies to generate concepts and ideas.
    • Incorporate new technologies and tools in the creative process.
    • Teach students how to identify elements and techniques used to create concepts.
    • Teach students to apply elements of design and modern principles of art.
    • Instruct students in the proper use and maintenance of materials, equipment, and tools.
    • Ensure the required standards of classroom management and student behavior are met.
    • Monitor proper use and storage of materials, tools and equipment to ensure good housekeeping.
    • Assist students with effective display and presentation of their works, including contest applications and preparations.
  • Evaluate each student's performance on a continual basis, prepare progress reports when needed.
  • Communicate with Studio Arts Coordinator and Department Chair on a regular basis. Communicate with students and families as necessary.
  • Communicate with other visual arts faculty and be available when necessary.
  • Teach 2 sections of Drawing in the Fall semester, and 2 sections in the Spring semester.
