Remote Learning Guidelines & Application
English
Dear EHS Families,
I hope this finds you safe and healthy, having enjoyed a restful and productive summer. Over the past few months in this rapidly evolving environment, we have been working to plan for a safe reopening of school for our students, faculty, staff, and families. As we prepare to launch the 2020-2021 school year amidst the concerning pandemic data in the Houston area, we would now like to offer a remote option for interested families. Whether the request is made to address a medical issue or for other reasons, EHS will offer the opportunity for any student to apply for the remote learning option under the following guidelines.
- The remote option will be offered month-to-month with an assessment of the student’s academic progress made at the end of each month in order to determine whether or not the student may continue remote. Students must remain remote for the entire month.
- Although remote students may participate in online extracurriculars, they may not participate in in-person or on-campus activities. With the exception of athletics, however, there may be some arts and other extracurriculars that will be possible for remote students. Please reach out to the faculty involved or the Pillar head for questions.
- Remote students will be expected to follow the eLearning Guidelines, including attending classes, Chapel, advisory, and class meetings online.
- Although remote students will have online access to faculty tutorials, advisors, deans, and counselors, students and parents should understand that the remote option will not replicate the in-person EHS experience.
- There will be no reduction in tuition if a family selects the remote learning option.
Although ideally we would like to have our entire community together as we were pre-pandemic, we understand that the remote option may be preferable for some. Families interested in applying for the remote learning option to begin September 8 should complete and submit the form attached as soon as possible. Please know that the remote option is month to month, so your child will need to remain remote until at least Friday, October 2. At that time, he or she may return to school in person or “re-up” for another month through October 30.

Application for Remote Learning

Cordiales saludos,
Nancy L. Eisenberg
