Online Auction FAQs
On January 31, Episcopal High School will open its 5th annual online auction to benefit our mission and our students. Over 200 fantastic items will be available for online bidding for one week only, from January 31 to February 7. Bidders can begin previewing items on Wednesday, January 30. The online auction is open to the public and we encourage members of the EHS community to forward the auction link to friends, neighbors, and family who are interested in participating. Below are additional details and answers to frequently asked questions.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1) When will the online site go “live”?
You will be able to preview the online auction items starting on Wednesday, January 30. Bidding begins at noon on January 31 and runs until noon on February 7.
2) What is the "online auction" and how is it connected to Episcopal’s annual gala?
The online auction is a completely separate event from the annual EHS gala that will take place at the end of February. The 200 items in the online auction are being made available exclusively for this online event.
3) Who can bid in the online auction?
ANY ADULT CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE ONLINE AUCTION. This auction is open to the public. Bidders do not need to have a child at EHS or purchase a ticket to the gala in order to participate. We encourage everyone to forward the link to others in the community so we can have a high level of participation.
4) How will EHS use my auction contributions?
We rely on proceeds from the online auction and the auction gala to support the funding gap that exists between tuition and the true cost of an EHS education. This support makes it possible for our students to experience the full range of opportunities within our Four Pillars of Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Religion. In addition, we use this funding to fulfill the final charge of our mission: to offer this incredible educational program to a student body who represents the social, economic, ethnic, and academic diversity of Houston. If you are a current parent, the auction will directly support your student THIS year at EHS!
5) How do I find the site?
You can access the online auction homepage directly at ehshouston.afrogs.org. You can also visit the EHS homepage to find a link to the site.
6) How do I register, and how does bidding work?
When you go to our auction homepage, you will be asked to create a unique login that will enable you to bid on items in our online auction. For registration and bidding information, please click here. Once you are logged in, you will be able to review items, make bids, and even make a “maximum bid” to try to secure an item if you initially get outbid.
